Hassabis founded DeepMind, an AI-based start-up company, along with New Zealand computer scientist Shane Legg and English entrepreneur Mustafa Suleyman in 2011. Over the next four years he developed a series of AI models and trained them using deep learning to play and master video games without teaching the AI the rules.
