A mysterious disease called 'crying disease' is sweeping through parts of Congo, killing over 50 people and infecting more than 400. Symptoms include fever, internal bleeding, and persistent crying in children.

World Health Organization officials said the outbreak appeared to originate from a village where three children died after reportedly eating a bat carcass.
