A flash flood warning is issued when a flash flood is either imminent or already occurring. In flood-prone areas, it’s crucial to move immediately to higher ground. A flash flood is a sudden and violent inundation that can develop within minutes to hours, and it can even happen in areas not currently experiencing rainfall.

The National Weather Service issued an updated flash flood warning at 1:48 p.m. on Wednesday in effect until 4:15 p.m. for Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for multiple North Carolina counties Wednesday afternoon. The warnings were issued for Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, and Lincoln counties until 3:15 p.m. Wednesday’s warnings came after several days of rain and severe storm warnings throughout the Charlotte Metro area.
