Ohio has new congressional lines, shifting several blue districts to lean more red. This map is being called a "compromise" by both GOP and Democratic leaders on the commission.
Greg Landsman will now have to run in a more Republican Cincinnati-area congressional district under a new map approved on Oct. 31. The Ohio Redistricting Commission approved a new map with bipartisan support − a compromise that avoids worst-case scenarios for both Republicans and Democrats.
Even as President Donald Trump was announcing trade deals during a trip to Asia, there were signs of dissent bubbling back on Capitol Hill among Republicans over Trump’s use of tariffs, as the Senate voted three times this week to lift a series of import duties levied by the White House.
However, unlike those other states, Ohio leaders are required to redraw the state’s congressional districts this year. That’s because the state’s current congressional map, passed by Republicans in 2021 without any Democratic votes, only lasts for four years under state constitutional rules.
