The meteor shower is expected to peak on the evening of August 12 through to the morning of August 13. While the shower will continue through to August 23, the peak is the best chance to see as many meteors as possible.

The Perseids are one of the most visually spectacular meteor showers of the year and are known for spawning impressive fireballs that light up the night sky.

The Perseid meteor shower is set to peak next week throughout Aug. 12-13, allowing stargazers to see up to 100 shooting stars per hour.
