The Pentagon inspector general has expanded an investigation into Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s sharing of military plans to a second Signal chat that included his wife and brother, according to people familiar with the inquiry.

A Pentagon inquiry is examining how classified information ended up on the Defense Secretary’s unsecured personal phone.

The news comes about a month after the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic was mistakenly added to a separate Signal chat with national security leaders.
