General Motors is recalling nearly 600,000 Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC vehicles due to engine issues that could cause damage or total failure. According to a notice first reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on April 24,

Affected drivers may notice a loud knocking or banging noise from the engine, or performance issues when driving.

GM’s latest recall affects more than 597,600 SUVs and pickup trucks from its Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC brands over an issue that may lead to engine damage or failure.
