At least 20 Palestinians were killed in a series of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, according to local medical sources. Seven people were killed north-west of Gaza City at a humanitarian aid distribution site.

It has restricted access to brief trips with military escorts. Earlier this month it barred those accompanying air-drops of food into Gaza from filming the devastation below. It stopped its own press corps or Palestinian journalists in the West Bank from entering Gaza decades ago.

The location of the protest was largely symbolic, as the Union-Tribune no longer has an official office downtown.
