Ben Johnson continues to progress toward completing his staff as the Chicago Bears will retain tight ends coach Jim Dray and are hiring Eric Bieniemy to oversee the running backs, sources have told the Chicago Tribune.

In three seasons with the Bears, Dray has helped develop tight end Cole Kmet, who saw his production increase year over year from 2022 to 2023. Kmet has become one of the focal points of the Bears offense while developing into a well-rounded tight end.

Bienemy overlapped with Bears GM Ryan Poles while with the Chiefs and with president/CEO Kevin Warren during his time coaching in Minnesota.
