While crime rate in Edmonton has dropped, violent crime incidents have increased since 2019: EPS
The number of violent incidents across the city has risen significantly over the last five years. In 2019, 13,224 incidents involving violence occurred, while in 2024, that number increased to 16,652, which has caused concern for the public, particularly their safety in the Downtown core and on transit.
