Republicans continue to make progress on President Donald Trump’s big bill of tax breaks, spending cuts and beefed-up border security, though considerable divisions remain as Speaker Mike Johnson attempts to bridge the differences in his conference.

President Trump's Republicans have moved closer to finalizing a giant bill encompassing most of his domestic agenda, although its fate remains uncertain.

House Republicans unveiled a plan for Trump’s “big, beautiful bill" on tax breaks earlier this week that also includes massive cuts to Medicaid. Johnson is one of a handful of conservatives against the bill, arguing that it is a “mistake” that will only increase the deficit.
