A U.S. Army veteran says he was snatched up, manhandled, and tossed in a cell for days in an immigration raid in California -- despite being a U.S. citizen.

George Retes, a U.S. citizen, was detained for three days without charges or explanation, despite identifying himself as a citizen.

“While (Homeland Security Investigations) respects the public’s right to peacefully express disagreement with immigration enforcement, physical assaults on federal officers and interference with lawful operations will not be tolerated,” ICE said a day after the arrests.
