While most of the MLB world outside the Los Angeles area wasn't thrilled to learn of Sasaki's decision, Dodgers minority owner Magic Johnson certainly was excited. The Los Angeles Lakers legend welcomed Sasaki to Dodger Stadium by gifting him a signed No. 32 Magic Johnson jersey.

The Dodgers may not have needed another ace, but they are getting one, as Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki has chosen to sign with Los Angeles.

Young Japanese flamethrower Roki Sasaki said on Instagram that he’s signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers, giving the defending World Series champions even more star power entering 2025
