The Texas Constitution looks a lot different now, following the successful passage of 17 amendments, including some conservative hot buttons.

It's Election Day, and El Paso voters are heading to the polls to cast their ballots. Tune in after 7 p.m. to see election results as the polls close.

Gov. Greg Abbott declared victory late Tuesday. He pushed amendments to create a water fund, tighten bail rules and remake a panel that polices judges.

The special election in a historically Black district features a new generation of rising Texas Democrats, including the Harris County attorney, Christian Menefee; State Representative Jolanda Jones; and a former Houston City Council member, Amanda Edwards. With a crowded field, a runoff is likely.
