Gov. DeSantis said Florida does not welcome the conduct of Andrew and Tristan Tate when they arrived in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., after leaving Romania.
The charges against the Tates remain in force, and they will be expected to return to Romania for court appearances, Romanian officials said.
Andrew Tate said he and his brother are “largely misunderstood” and said they have “no criminal record anywhere.”
Florida’s Attorney General James Uthmeier has since launched an inquiry into the situation, writing on X that “Florida has zero tolerance for human trafficking and violence against women.” He further emphasized that if any of the allegations against the Tates fall under Florida’s jurisdiction, legal action will be taken.
