The newest instalment in Ubisoft's blockbuster "Assassin's Creed" franchise received a "mostly positive" rating on Steam based on 359 user reviews, with 79% of them being positive, about two hours after its launch on the game distribution platform on Thursday.

Canon mode is a setting in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Like all the familiar boot-up settings — subtitle preferences, game difficulty, immersive mode, guided exploration mode, and so on — you’ll choose whether or not to activate it before starting a new game. But the thing is, once you select it, you can’t change it. You’re locked in.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a very good Assassin’s Creed game, with one very problematic quality: During the review period, it had a bad habit of rendering itself unplayable from time to time.
