Snow and ice aren’t the only things this winter storm double-header will bring across the East this week. Heavy rain and storms will be a threat on the warm side of both systems, posing flash flooding concerns across a large swath of the South.

The Weather Authority will be monitoring the threat of multiple rounds of rain this week. The rain will be beneficial with the current drought conditions, but with it all arriving at once it could lead to problems.

This is going to start next week. Several days will bring periods of rain to the region, and at times, heavy rain.

The heavy rains hitting northern California have caused flooding in the communities east of Redding. Heavily hit areas include the communities of Palo Cedro and Bella Vista.
