U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who has sharply criticized California's response to devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, on Saturday said he would most likely pay a visit to the area next week after his inauguration.

CBS News Miami's Larry Seward reports from Malibu, where congressional Democrats in Southern California are hoping to make the president-elect an ally.

Meteorologists said there was a chance the winds would be as severe as those that fueled the Palisades and Eaton fires, but that different locations would likely be affected.

National Weather Service offices across Southern California are warning residents of an increase in weather conditions that are conducive to rapid fire growth. Meteorologists are most concerned about conditions from Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning when winds will be at their peak and relative humidity will be low.
