The final scene features Eddy weeping in his son’s bed, surrounded by Jamie’s belongings and toy teddy bear. He gives the bear a small kiss, and tucks it into bed — something he probably won’t be able to do with his own son ever again.

As far as episodes go, the ending of the fourth episode is harrowing, with Eddie breaking down and blaming himself for his son's actions. The show emphasizes how the murderer's family's lives are forever changed.

While the series isn't based on a true story, Graham -- who portrays Eddie Miller, Jamie's dad in the series, in addition to being a co-writer -- told Rolling Stone UK that he drew inspiration from the several real-life incidents that happened among youth in the U.K., specifically several incidents that involved the stabbing of teen girls.
