A U.S. airstrike in Iraq this week killed the Islamic State terror network’s No. 2 leader, Pentagon officials said in a statement late Friday.

On his Truth Social platform Friday night, President Trump wrote that "the fugitive leader of ISIS in Iraq was killed."

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces, in collaboration with Iraqi Intelligence and Security Forces, conducted a precision airstrike on March 13th, eliminating a key leader of the Islamic State (ISIS).
