YouTube is removing its Trending section - MSN
Back in 2015, when the Trending page launched, viral videos were easier to spot in a single list because everyone tended to watch and talk about the same content. But YouTube says things have changed.
The first place they often turn? Google, of course. Google has released the top-searched baby names so far this year. The list is based on Google search data between Jan. 1 and May 27, 2025.
YouTube also plans to add more categories soon. When YouTube launched the Trending page in 2015, internet trends were simpler. A single list could show what was going viral. But things have changed.
The page and the Trending Now list will be removed across all platforms later this month, and the company is directing users to its category-based YouTube Charts to discover trending videos.
YouTube has relevant data that shows the Trending section's usage — data that is trending lower. Almost 10 years after the section's launch, YouTube is getting rid of the Trending page.
