Marcus Stroman returned to Yankees camp on Friday. The righty reported on time for a mandatory physical on Tuesday but did not participate in official, on-field workouts at George M. Steinbrenner Field on Wednesday and Thursday.

Marcus Stroman, whom the Yankees tried to trade this offseason with the veteran being the projected odd man out of the rotation, had until Feb. 22 to report to camp under CBA rules.

Stroman arrived at Yankees camp after causing a stir with his absence earlier in the week. He was the Yankees’ only healthy pitcher who chose not to participate in the team’s opening workouts. “I don’t think there was a need for me to be here in the last few days, given the climate,” Stroman said.
