Utah Gov. Spencer Cox will deliver his annual State of the State speech on Thursday to kick off the 2026 legislative session. The governor is expected to highlight his priorities which include funding for a central homeless campus, deregulation to speed up home construction and policies to improve literacy rates among elementary students.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox called for a return to Utah’s core values this legislative session during his 2026 State of the State address last week. "Tonight, I am excited to highlight some of the incredible bills that you all are working on that will significantly improve the welfare of the citizens of Utah,” Cox said.
