A winter storm will bring snow to the Philadelphia region tonight, followed by a blast of dangerous cold lasting through early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will start out the coldest they've been since February Tuesday in the Philadelphia region, with widespread teens and some windchills that dip into the single digits.

The National Weather Service on Friday said Philadelphia was all but certain to get at least an inch of snow during the weekend, with a general 2 to 4 inches expected, said Joe DeSilva, a meteorologist in the Mount Holly office. The weather service issued a winter-weather advisory for the entire region from 7 p.m. Saturday through 1 p.m. Sunday.

Wednesday in the Philadelphia region will be cloudy and chilly with rain showers in Philadelphia and rain and some snow in the Lehigh Valley.
