On Tuesday, many individuals were buzzing about viral headlines and rumors suggesting that ESPN removed Stephen A. Smith from its " NBA Countdown" programs. However, Smith has since addressed the buzz, calling it a "non-story" and shutting down earlier reports that he was "yanked" from the show after appearing on for over six years.

After more than two decades appearing on the show, TV superstar Stephen A. Smith is no longer a regular on ESPN's Inside the NBA programming.

Stephen A. Smith said he made the call to be removed from “NBA Countdown.” ESPN announced Monday a “new-look NBA Countdown” show that surprisingly did not include Smith, a regular on the show for years and one of the faces of the company and its NBA coverage.

Despite recent headlines, it’s been known for months that Smith would no longer be part of ESPN’s pregame show.
