To check the bellhousing turn the crank clockwise, reading the indicator every 90 degrees, starting at 90 degrees on the right, 180 degrees on the bottom, then 270 degrees on the left.

Mount the dial indicator on the flywheel as shown. You must have steady, continuous rotation for 360 degrees around the inside of the bell-to-transmission’s inside diameter.
