The father of a "Texas Killing Fields" victim says he met the newly indicted suspect roughly 30 times without knowing of his alleged involvement in the case.

GALVESTON — A long-time suspect in one of the region’s most haunting cold cases died by suicide, as prosecutors move forward with new charges tied to the decades-old “Killing Fields” murders. On Wednesday, Galveston County District Attorney Kenneth Cusick revealed that Clyde Hedrick, 72, died by suicide while hospitalized on March 21.
