Race Cast Engineering builds these V-12 heads in-house. As the name suggests, the V-12 LS is a 12-cylinder engine that shares its basic design with Chevy’s iconic small-block.

Last year Summit Racing Equipment released its SPC small-block Chevy block, and we finally got to check one out.

It led me down a brief Internet rabbit hole, as such things tend to do, so allow me to introduce you to a metal casting repair process known as Precision Metal Stitching, aka Lock-N-Stitch.

The block was also made extra transparent with a coat of additional resin applied by hand, to cover the rough surface that had transferred from the original engine block casting.

A cracked engine block can be a disastrous problem that renders your car completely useless, but one Cummins block in particular was prone to cracking.
