Skygazers in western Germany were treated to a rare astronomical event when a supermoon and lunar eclipse combined, showing Earth's satellite bathed in blood-red light on Sept. 28, 2015.

Celestial enthusiasts across Southern California will have a chance to watch the moon turn red during a total eclipse early Tuesday, but you’ll have to be up before dawn to catch it.

According to NASA's Daily Moon Guide, 100% of the Moon will be lit up tonight.
