Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo announced Friday that 204 people received a CDL Class A license through the CDL Class A Young Adult Training Program. The recipients were ages 18 to 20.

Efforts to get more truck drivers on the road are taking place in several states with new community commercial driver license training programs and expanded third-party testing locations.

In 2025, the program plans to train 40 Class A and 100 Class C drivers. In Nevada, five-week CDL classes are also being expanded at Western Nevada College in Carson City.

Black River Technical College (BRTC) is offering a new Commercial Driver’s License training program this summer, where students can get a Class A CDL license within a month.

The program is available in all four Coastal Bend College locations: Beeville, Alice, Kingsville, and Pleasanton. The CDL program will offer training in Class A or Class B driver's licenses.

The Clark State College’s Commercial Transportation Training Center will offer weekend courses to obtain a CDL Class A license starting in January.
