One day into the Atlanta Falcons offseason and a bombshell already dropped. According to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, who has previously had close ties to the franchise, the Falcons aren't willing to let Kirk Cousins walk for nothing. Instead, they will look to trade him.

Atlanta has competed in the NFC South race throughout the season, but Cousins struggled in the second half. The 36-year-old threw just one touchdown compared to nine interceptions over a five-game stretch prior to being benched, and the Falcons went 1-4 in those games.

While the Atlanta Falcons missed the playoffs, they have found their quarterback of the present and future in Michael Penix. But Penix’s emergence has left Kirk Cousins’ future with the Falcons hanging in the balance.
