As of 9 a.m. Sunday, around 19,500 Appalachian Power customers in Virginia are without power. An additional 7,900 West Virginia customers also remain without power. The power company reported that flash flooding has delayed restoration efforts as crews have had trouble reaching some locations.

(WSET) — As of 3:14 p.m. on Sunday, nearly 38,000 Virginian Appalachian Power customers are without power. AEP says they expect to see additional hazards and outages due to new flooding and high winds with the new winter weather headed this way. Wind gusts over 30 miles an hour create unsafe working conditions. This may delay power restoration.
