The Celtics minority owner will have to overcome a competing bid from Marc Lasry's Avenue Capital Group that plans to keep the Sun in Connecticut.

Steve Pagliuca has confirmed his Boston-based group's interest in purchasing the WNBA's Connecticut Sun. In a statement issued Sunday night, the group acknowledged that no deal has been reached with the Mohegan Tribe and that his "record-setting offer" remains subject to league approval.
