Winter Storm Watch: Snow falls across NYC and New Jersey
Snow is still falling across New York City, New Jersey and southern Connecticut this Sunday morning, with several inches of accumulation expected to continue as winter weather advisories remain in place.
Central Park was under a canvas of snow Sunday morning, with its trees, meadows and pathways frosted in a wintry icing after New York City’s first big snowfall of the season. The snow fell across the city overnight, picking up steadily in the early morning hours before beginning to taper off from the west around midmorning.
Snow should taper off in New York City by about midday on Sunday before temperatures plummet under clear skies later, as a quick moving winter storm sweeps through the US Northeast.

SantaCon 2025: Starting point, time for Saturday in New York City
NEW YORK CITY - Ho ho ho! SantaCon is coming to town! This year's SantaCon will hit the town at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Hundreds of Santa Clauses, reindeer and elves will descend upon the city for the holiday tradition, a charity event that organizers said has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charitable causes.
The four-story terminal, funded by $90 million in grants, aims to reshape the borough's waterfront while providing commuters with Manhattan access by 2028.
The second Queens project, backed by Hard Rock and the New York Mets owner Steve Cohen, would transform the area near Citi Field into a year-round entertainment hub, offering gaming, live shows, dining, and community events.
