In the wake of the sexual assault allegations against Neil Gaiman, Netflix has announced 'The Sandman' will end with its second season.

The second season of “The Sandman” follows the “Season of Mists” storyline from Gaiman’s comics, in which Lucifer (Gwendoline Christie) abdicates control of Hell and presents Morpheus, aka Dream (Tom Sturridge), with the key to its gates, causing many immortals to try to convince Morpheus to give the key to them.

Netflix has announced its streaming series The Sandman will end after its impending second season. A statement from Netflix attributes the series' end to an artistic decision. The entire statement, credited to showrunner Allen Heinberg, reads as follows:

Netflix is putting The Sandman to sleep. The fantasy drama based on Neil Gaiman’s comic series has been cancelled at the streamer, TVLine has confirmed. The series will end with the forthcoming Season 2;

Netflix has officially canceled The Sandman after two seasons, following multiple sexual harassment allegations against its creator, Neil Gaiman. The acclaimed series, based on Gaiman’s DC comics, premiered its first season in August 2022 and was well-received by both critics and audiences.
