Marvel Rivals just announced, excitingly, that The Thing and Human Torch are finally coming to the hero shooter on February 21, but it seems like most players are too furious about the game's new mid-season rank reset to notice.

Marvel Rivals will round out The Fantastic Four team when The Thing and Human Torch launch as playable characters on February 21, 2025. The release date for the new heroes in Marvel and NetEase Games’ popular hero shooter was announced today,

Marvel Rivals Season 1 launched on January 10, introducing Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four into the game but not including Human Torch and the Thing. This is despite all four characters being unveiled and teased for the game together.

Aside from adding new heroes and changing gameplay balance, NetEase also wants to shake up Marvel Rivals' Competitive mode. The first half of Season 1 will conclude on Feb. 21, after which all ranks will be locked in. Once the mid-season rolls in, some changes are on the way, though it's debatable whether they're good changes or not.

Hold your competitive rank close, because it’s going to disappear next week when Marvel Rivals’ mid-season patch drops. In a dev diary post today, developer NetEase announced that ranks will be reset twice per season: once at the beginning and once halfway through.

Mid-season rank resets are being introduced to Marvel Rivals alongside a bonus ranked reward costume for those that have hit Gold or above.
