Garner, who won three Emmys for her role as Ruth Langmore on the Netflix show Ozark, was a guest on the SmartLess podcast with hosts Will Arnett, Sean Hayes, and Jason Bateman when she provided an update for the long-gestating Madonna biopic. She admitted that she "grew up listening" to Madonna and is "such a fan" of the singer.

Julia Garner, who was set to play Madonna years ago, said a biopic of the 'Vogue' singer is still on — as a series is also reportedly in the works.

Garner said on the "SmartLess" podcast that the planned movie about Madonna's life is "supposed to still happen."
