A Norwegian man woke up to discover a massive container ship had run aground just metres from his bedroom. The 135-metre container ship ran aground around 5am local time on Thursday in Byneset, west of Trondheim.
A 440-foot ship nearly hit a Norway cabin as its owner slept. The helmsman was reportedly asleep too.
His neighbor, Jostein Jorgensen, said he was roused at around 5 a.m. by the sound of a ship heading at full speed toward land and immediately ran to Helberg's house. The massive vessel reportedly caused damage to a heating pipe in Helberg's cabin, TV2 reported, but the homeowner said he considered himself lucky.

The incident occurred early Thursday, as per a report, as the huge cargo ship crashed at a stone's throw from his fjord-side house – and he stepped through the commotion.
