Gage Wood took a perfect game into the eighth inning and finished off the first no-hitter at the College World Series since 1960 to lead the University of Arkansas baseball team to a 3-0 victory over Murray State on Monday in an elimination game at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha,

The 2025 College Baseball World Series rolled along on Monday with a pair of Bracket 2 games in Omaha. In the opening matchup, Arkansas defeated Murray State 3-0 in an elimination game behind a no-hitter by Gage Wood to keep its title hopes intact.

The Razorbacks won, 3-0, as Gage became the first player to toss a no-hitter on this stage since Oklahoma State's Jim Wixson in 1960. Only a hit batter in the eighth inning separated Wood from a perfect game. Still, the timing could't have been any better as Wood closes out his Arkansas career and prepares for the MLB Draft on July 13.
