The Loyola High grad, who had played five seasons with the Rams, says he’s ‘excited to be home’ after spending last season with the Chicago Bears

Shelton spent the first five years of his NFL career with the NFC West team before leaving for the Bears last year. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the center has agreed to terms with the Rams on a two-year deal that will bring him back to Los Angeles.

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – The Rams have signed their former center Coleman Shelton to a two-year deal, who returns to Los Angeles after one season in Chicago.

The Loyola High graduate left via free agency to play for the Chicago Bears last season, but he returns now to add depth and competition to the interior of the offensive line. The Rams traded interior lineman Jonah Jackson to the Bears earlier this month, while Joe Noteboom is a free agent.

Sean McVay and the Rams have welcomed back center Coleman Shelton on a two-year deal. After spending last season with the Bears, Shelton is once again wearing the horns and ready to contribute.

Shelton is coming back to L.A. on a two-year deal. This comes soon after one of the Rams’ 2024 center options, Jonah Jackson, has been traded to the Bears. Jackson had been in talks with the Rams for more than a day, ESPN.com’s Courtney Cronin notes.

Coleman Shelton started 32 games for the Los Angeles Rams in his final three seasons with the team, including all 17 games in 2023. He was a versatile lineman who started at both guard spots and center during his Rams career before signing with the Chicago Bears in 2024.
