A California man suspected of driving under the influence was arrested after a slip of the tongue, accidentally identifying himself as the "DUI" to law enforcement instead of the "DD".

The truth did not set him free. A California motorist was arrested hours into the New Year after he told a police officer he was the “DUI” for the night — rather than the “DD” in an apparent slip of the tongue,

The suspect was arrested in San Diego more than a month after the body of the victim, a Virginia resident, was discovered at the Schmid Land Preserve in Edgecomb.

Maine State Police say 26-year-old Luke Krott of Edgecomb was taken into custody after he was found in San Diego.
