My wife and family are from this area but she has not visited since she was a child. Could you please tell us where to stay and to do in the area. We are planning to visit in late September. If you could give us an idea of about how much time (minium) we should a lot for the Historical centre.

Time is hard to advise for the Magoffin County Historical Society [depends on you interest]. I would say at least a day in Salyersville. There is a visitors center in Paintsville that can help with maps, etc.
